Scouting America · Katy, Texas

Friends for the trail. Skills for life. A path to Eagle.

Troop 476 is a place where boys in Katy make real friends, sleep under the stars, learn to lead, and grow into young men of character. Come see for yourself. Your first visit is always free.

Welcome

There is a seat by our fire for your son, and a place for him in the troop.

Scouting is not a program you watch from the sidelines. It is a group of boys who hike the same trails, cook the same meals, pitch tents in the same rain, and figure things out together. Along the way they pick up skills, a little grit, and friendships that last for years.

Troop 476 meets in Katy and camps across Texas. We are led by the Scouts themselves, guided by trained adult leaders who put safety first. Whether your son is brand new to the outdoors or already loves it, he will find a patrol ready to welcome him.

What your son will find

More than a meeting. A brotherhood.

Four things every boy carries home from Scouting, long after the campfire is out.

Friendship

Boys who start as strangers become a patrol, then become brothers. The bonds made on the trail are the kind that last.

Adventure

A reason to put the screens down. Camping, hiking, fishing, canoeing, and a week at summer camp every year.

Leadership

The boys run this troop. They plan the trips and lead the patrols. Responsibility is caught, not taught.

Character and faith

The Scout Law is a way to live. Duty to God, to country, and to one another runs through everything we do.

The promise a Scout keeps

Twelve words your son will learn to live by, on the trail and at home.

The trail to Eagle

Every Eagle started at the trailhead

Rank by rank, a Scout builds skills, leads others, and serves his community. Only a few reach the top, and your son could be one of them.

What parents want to know

Straight answers to the questions every family asks before they visit.

Safe

Two registered, background checked adults are present at every activity. Leaders are trained in youth protection, and no adult is ever alone with a Scout.

Affordable

Dues and gear cost far less than most sports. When cost is a hurdle, fundraising and council scholarships help. No boy is turned away over money.

Welcoming

Families of every background and faith are welcome. Come as you are for a first visit. If it is a fit, we will help with the rest.
